About Nicole

I am a graduate of Birthwise Midwifery School in Bridgton, Maine and a Certified Professional Midwife. I am practicing at South Shore Home Birth Midwifery Services where I offer full-scale prenatal, birth and postpartum care.

I trained in Boston with Nancy Wainer where I learned about attending women in VBACs. I spent the summer of 2014 in the Philippines where I worked as a midwife in a high-risk, high-volume birth center and honed my skills and became proficient managing complications as they arise in an out of hospital setting. I also had the opportunity to work in the Amish community of Lancaster, Pennsylvania attending Amish women in birth. If their is one thing that these experiences have taught me , it’s that birth is a universal language. No matter a women’s race, religion, sexual orientation or cultural background, women deserve to be respected and supported in birth. It is my honor to be a midwife.

I am a native of Key West, Florida, and a graduate of the University of Florida. In 2010, my husband Bill was offered a position as the chair of the journalism department at Boston University and we moved across the country to the Boston area with our four children. My interest in childbirth comes naturally and the career shift to midwifery arose from her lifelong fascination with the innate power held by women’s bodies, especially those of pregnant women. The midwifery community is loving and spiritual and has led to a further growth for myself and my family.
