Rachel Ross Services

I provide services for prenatal care, birth, postpartum and woman care through and beyond the childbearing years. I also provide lactation services as an IBCLC.  My special area of interest is in Herbalism. I own and manage a large organic garden where I grow herbs, while others I use are wild-harvested. Recently, I have crafted "Happy Baby Breastfeeding Tea" which is a unique blend of herbs and seeds to enhance mother's milk supply while it helps her relax and enjoy her baby at the breast. Gentle digestive herbs are also included to help ease tummy distress of her baby which often occurs during those early weeks. This tea is available for sale. I will be building a 'locally crafted' line of tinctures, rubs, salves and teas. I am most interested in providing viable herbal alternatives for healing. Please feel free to inquire if you have a particular need.

About Rachel

I am a mother of 5 children and a gardener, herbalist, naturalist, midwife, breastfeeding helper and crafter of sorts. I hold two degrees; my first is a Masters in Botany. My second is formal training in nursing with a BSN(Bachelors of Science in Nursing 1995) and MSN (Masters of Science in Nursing 2003). As an RN, I spent all of my time in maternal/child nursing.  I am a CNM (Certified Nurse-Midwife 2003) and have practiced in birth centers and hospitals since 2003. I am a strong advocate of natural birth. The medicalization of a typical hospital birth is quite discouraging. I truly believe we are meant to give birth normally and naturally under our own power if we can be healthy human beings with love, knowing and support surrounding us.
