About Tammy

I believe that when, where and with whom a woman chooses to birth is truly a personal matter, and I fully support informed consent and informed refusal practices.  Women in my care are shared decision makers and are respected as such.  I honor a woman and a family's right to birth in any manner that fits their particular needs.

I began the journey of my midwifery training with an intensive workshop at The Farm in Tennessee and keep up with current and traditional midwifery practice by attending conferences, workshops and seminars.  I am a CPM who trained through the apprenticeship model and am blessed to have been trained by and to have attended births with a variety of midwives ranging from a well known VBAC pioneer to a traditional birth attendant in the Old Order Amish community.

Throughout my midwifery training, I have been active as both a birth and post partum doula.  I am fortunate to have had the great privilege of working with a diverse group of women, couples and families. They have given me the additional gift of experience by allowing me to work with their multiples, special needs and premature babies.

More women are being exposed to the benefits of placenta encapsulation as part of the post partum healing process. I offer both the (TCM) Traditional Chinese Method and the Raw Dehydrated Method of encapsulation.
