About Megan

I continue to delight in the strength of women, in the gift that each of our stories bring to the shared table, and in the exquisite and commonplace journey of mothers. My practice as a midwife focuses on providing individualized and safe evidenced-based care.  Just as we should be received with gentleness and dignity at the beginning of life, we  deserve dignity as we become families and birth our babies. When women are collaborators in their own healthcare, and have the opportunity to be in charge of their own choices, everyone benifits. I am passionate about empowering mothers, combating racism and poverty, and treating children with kindness and respect.

I work also as a mother and home educator with a focus on social justice and experiential learning. As the mother of eleven home-born children, I began both my family and my midwifery studies in the 1980s when I became a childbirth educator and completed the Traditional Childbearing Group's Midwifery Program (now ICTC).  I  studied with the MMA, and went through a formal apprenticeship. and became a Certified Professional Midwife.  I enjoyed a midwifery practice in Western Massachusetts before moving back to the Boston area. I live play and learn in Cambridge Massachusetts.

I am currently a student of Botanical Medicaine.  I serve on the board of the MMA and am a curriculum coordinator and instructor for the MMA Basic Course in Midwifery.
