About Megan

My practice as a midwife has its roots in recognizing the sacred challenging and commonplace journey of mothers. To that end I provide individualized and safe evidenced-based care.  Just as we should be received with gentleness and dignity at the beginning of life, we deserve the same as we become mothers ourselves. When women are collaborators in their own healthcare, and have the opportunity to be in charge of their own choices, everyone benefits. I am passionate about empowering mothers, combating oppressive structures both personal and cultural, and treating children with kindness and respect. I continue to delight in the strength of women, in the gift that each of our stories bring to the shared table.

I work also as a mother and home educator with a focus on social justice and experiential learning. As the mother of eleven home-born children, I began both my family and my midwifery studies in the 1980s when I became a childbirth educator and completed the Traditional Childbearing Group's Midwifery Program (now ICTC).  I studied with the MMA, had a formal apprenticeship, and practice now as a Certified Professional Midwife.  I am currently a student of Botanical Medicine.  I serve on the board of the MMA and am a curriculum coordinator and instructor for the MMA Basic Course in Midwifery. I live and learn in Cambridge Massachusetts.
